For 38 years, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) has had a Washington, DC office fighting for pediatricians and their patients at the federal level. Take action by clicking on the links below to make a difference and better the lives of our nation's children.

Get involved in the 2008 elections and learn more about the front running candidates' and their health plans in the Academy's 2008 Election Center! Urge your senators and representative to protect Medicaid from a series of damaging regulations that will hurt health care coverage for millions of children. Include Medicaid cuts moratoria in the Iraq War Supplemental. Urge Congress to support the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act to give FDA strong authority to regulate tobacco and keep it out of the hands of children. Urge your members of Congress to co-sponsor AAP-endorsed legislation to reauthorize the Emergency Medical Services for Children (EMSC) program.
