Advocacy Action Center
Welcome to the American Academy of Pediatrics' Federal Affairs Advocacy Action Center, your resource for finding the information you need to be an effective advocate on issues affecting the health of our nation's children. For 38 years, the AAP has had a Washington, DC office fighting for pediatricians and their patients at the federal level! Get involved by clicking on the links below to make a difference and better the lives of our nation's children.
The Academy is calling attention to the fact that health reform must begin with, and include children's access to quality care. Our ongoing concern is that children's health care needs are often overlooked in the discussion of health care form.
As a resource for members, the Department of Federal Affairs has put together informational sheets explaining the Academy's health reform priorities on several issues including:

Health Care Reform is happening. Children need you to act now to make sure that they benefit from the result. We need your help! As pediatricians you can speak to the consequences of uninsurance and inappropriate care for children.
Bills have been introduced in each chamber of Congress and are being debated and amended. The legislation includes many positives for children, but they do not provide for age-appropriate benefits for all. As you know, “as good as your member of Congress” is not good enough for children!
